Sustainability and the conscious use of resources are far more than just buzzwords for us as a traditional dairy processing company; they are an integral part of our corporate philosophy. Today we are pleased to announce that Bergpracht Milchwerk GmbH & Co. KG has been officially awarded the title of “KLIMAfit” company.
As part of the funding program of the Ministry for the Environment, Climate and Energy of Baden-Württemberg, we have been intensively examining our carbon footprint in recent months. Together with the IHK Bodensee-Oberschwaben and other regional companies, we have implemented the following in the so-called "convoy procedure":
- a thorough materiality analysis was carried out,
- a detailed CO₂ balance sheet for our location in Tettnang was prepared,
- concrete, economically viable measures for emission reduction have been developed,
- Internal structures have been strengthened to permanently embed climate protection in our processes.
The professional exchange within the convoy was particularly valuable for us, including with the Allgäu Emmental cheese dairy Leupolz e.G., as well as the professional support from the Dairy Association of Baden-Württemberg. Despite the challenges of complex data collection, we gained valuable insights. These results now serve as a solid foundation for future environmental management certifications.
